Trina Storage, the energy storage business unit of Trinasolar, has been included in BloombergNEF’s (BNEF) Energy Storage Tier 1 List for the fourth quarter of 2026. According to the company’s announcement, issued from Munich on 5 November 2026, this marks Trina Storage’s 12th consecutive inclusion on the list and its third consecutive year of Tier 1 recognition.
Financing track record carries more weight
According to the company, BNEF’s updated criteria place greater emphasis on project financing and bankability. Manufacturers seeking a place on the list must demonstrate a deployment and financing track record on independently financed utility-scale projects.
Yang Bao, President of the Energy Storage Division at Trinasolar, said the company was honoured to be recognised by BloombergNEF for the 12th consecutive quarter. He pointed to a maturing industry in which customers are increasingly focused on financing readiness and long-term performance.
The Elementa product family
The announcement highlights the Elementa battery energy storage system, which features liquid cooling and advanced battery management. The company also notes that its recently introduced Elementa + Electra integrated DC+AC solution combines high-density storage with advanced power conversion and offers grid-forming, black-start and flexible power control capabilities.
Earlier in 2026, Trina Storage introduced the Elementa Hybrid Genset concept aimed at the power demand of AI data centres in North America. The announcement did not disclose shipment volumes or project numbers.
